James Colebourn Awarded Handicap Cup for 2011

As usual, the last evening of the season in 2011 was given over to the Handicap Cup.

The 2011 Handicap Cup was a five-round event, with the stronger player in each match being handicapped by having to remove one point of material at the start of the game for every 10 points of grade diffrenece (rounded down) betwen the opponents.  The player removing the material could choose which of his pieces to remove - so, for example, if the grade difference was in the range 50 to 59, the stronger player could remove (a) 5 pawns, or (b) a rook, or (c) a minor piece and 2 pawns.

This fun evening resulted in a 3-way tie between Jeremy Fraser-Mitchell, David Bower and James Colebourn.  James Colebourn was awarded the cup on the tie-breaker rule "youngest winner gets the cup".
