On Monday 28th May the semi-finals and finals of the 2011-12 season Lavers Ladder took place.
In the semi-finals Terry Douse and Jeremy Fraser-Mitchell beat James Colebourn and Ray Claret.
In the final, Jeremy had the white pieces and opened d4, and Terry defended with the King's Indian. The decisive moment came at moves 16 and 17, when the clearing of the d-file allowed Jeremy to gain a rook. You can play through the full game below.
Congratulations to Jeremy, who became the second winner of this competition, succeeding Ray Claret who won in 2011.
